These paintings started as collages, but painting slows the process down and gives space to something deeper. Collage has always been my way in, but it reaches its limits; size, scale, space. Painting lets me stretch the work further, wider, bigger. And in doing that, something that started small becomes louder, heavier, harder to ignore. It mirrors how the versions of ourselves we’ve carried, and let go of, don’t disappear. They stretch too. They find new shapes, and new ways to show up.
